Director General of the EC Directorate General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Christian Danielsson and Serbian Minister without portfolio in charge of European integration Jadranka Joksimovic welcomed today the opening of chapters 26 – Culture and Education – and 20 – Entrepreneurship and Industrial Policy – at the intergovernmental conference to be held on Monday 27 February, reads the statement released by the office of Minister Joksimovic.
Danielsson pointed to the importance of reform carried out in Serbia and added that the country set a good example of economic reform implementation and regional cooperation and was a reliable partner of the EU in tackling migrant crisis.
EU membership is in Serbia’s strategic interest and European integration is the best approach to an overall development of the country, Joksimovic said.
Joksimovic and Danielsson also discussed the capacity building in the context of successful using of IPA funds and the policy of retaining experts in that area and agreed to consider ways in which the EU could help Serbia carry that process out.
