The European Union called on Kosovo to revoke its decision to increase import tax on goods coming from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a move described by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini’s Spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic as a violation of Kosovo’s obligations.

“These measures are a clear violation of Kosovo’s obligations. The EU expects Kosovo to revoke the measure,” said Kocijancic during a regular press briefing.

She reminded of Kosovo’s obligations under CEFTA and underscored that Kosovo was currently holding the presidency of CEFTA.

The Government of Kosovo increased the import tax by 10 per cent on all goods produced in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina but not on international brands produced there.
