On Monday, 16 July 2018, at 13:00, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ambassador Sem Fabrizi, Director of the Office for Public Investment Management Marko Blagojevic, joined by representatives of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, will attend the presentation of the flood risk map in Serbia at the Batajnica Air Base.

The European Union has made a EUR6.15 million donation to the Republic of Serbia for the project Preparation of flood hazard and flood risk maps. For the first time ever, Serbian institutions will be able to draw flood risk maps of 74 main areas at risk, thus contributing to flood damage reduction and prevention.

The project is participated in by the Ministry of Defence and the Military Geographical Institute of the General Staff of Serbia, the Republic Geodetic Authority, the Republic Hydrometeorological Service of Serbia, the Republic Water Directorate and public water management companies Srbijavode and Vode Vojvodine. With the World Bank as one of the implementing partners, the project is coordinated by the Office for Public Investment Management of the Republic of Serbia.
