The symbol of Belgrade, Pobednik monument in Kalemegdan, was lit up in the colours of the EU as part of the Europe Day celebration which the EU Delegation to Serbia commemorated with the highest government officials and citizens.
The victorious monument – created by Ivan Mestrovic – was erected in 1928 in Kalemegdan’s Upper Town on the 10th anniversary of the Armistice of Salonica.
