This week, representative offices of Germany, Hungary and Bulgaria were venues of the “Open Doors” event, within which the EU Member States’ embassies host students and high school pupils, bringing them closer to the countries they represent.

This manifestation is a part of the Europe Open programme, organised in May and June on the occasion of Europe Day.

German Ambassador to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm presented the Serbian candidates with scholarship certificates, granted by the German Academic Exchange Service.

“You are travelling to Germany at the time when Serbia-Germany bilateral relations are as good as never before,” said Wilhelm.

Representatives of the Hungarian Embassy hosted students of the Department of International Studies of the Faculty of Political Sciences, to whom they presented their work, Hungary-Serbia political and economic relations, as well as the importance of the EU to Hungary.

Bulgarian Embassy in Belgrade hosted students of Tourist School and several Belgrade faculties. During their visit, students attended the lecture on Serbia-Bulgaria relations, and the EU membership experience of this neighbouring country.

Open door days are traditionally organised by the EU Member States’ embassies, so as to bring their countries closer to visitors. This year, events are organised by 14 embassies: France, the Netherlands, Greece, Croatia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Germany, Belgium, Finland, Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Romania, and Italy.
