EU Member States support the Western Balkans countries in tackling the refugee crisis in various ways, including the delivery of immediate emergency items.
Thus the latest data from the EU Civil Protection Mechanism shows that over the course of September, Serbia alone received 500 pillows 50 000 protective gloves from Austria, 50 000 protective masks from Hungary and 5 000 blankets from Ireland in support of its efforts to take care of refugees.
Luxembourg sent 5 000 protective masks and 26 000 disposable gloves to Serbia, whereas Romania offered 2 500 sleeping bags, 1 000 blankets, 2 000 bed clothes, 500 folding beds, 500 mattresses and 1 000 pillowcases.
Slovakia sent 1000 wool blankets, 36 heaters (solid fuel) for tents, 600 isothermal blankets, 200 pads, 2 generators 6kW and 2000 disposable raincoats.
Spain supported Serbia by sending 5 940 wool blankets, the UK 24 060 blankets, 500 sleeping bags, 3 000 roll mats, 1000 beds with mattresses and 170 tents.
Croatia and Slovenia received similar assistance.
According to the data from Serbia, the country still needs 3 000 beds and 174 accommodation containers, 114 tents and 40 sanitary containers, 3 buses, 10 mobile kitchens, 10 minivans, 1 000 pillows, 5 000 protective masks, 48 000 disposable raincoats, 3 000 roll mats, 2 000 pairs of rubber boots, 27 mobile showers and toilets, 20 vehicles and 4 water pumps.
