The European Union is always closer than you think – that’s one of the messages of the new series “EU in my neighbourhood”, which started broadcasting today on Radio Television of Serbia.
Before the start of the first episode, the EU Ambassador to Serbia Emanuele Giaufret was a guest in the Morning program of the Public Broadcaster, and pointed out that EU aid brings many benefits at the macro level, but also that there are many small success stories throughout the country.
“As Serbia gets closer to the EU, citizens can increasingly enjoy the benefits of that process. I am very grateful to RTS for its partnership. This is an overview of concrete examples from all over Serbia, from Kraljevo to Nis, Novi Pazar, Subotica, and is an opportunity to show viewers what Serbia and the European Union are doing together for the benefit of citizens,” says Ambassador Giaufret.

The first of five TV stories focuses on Kraljevo, where the EU helped two institutions that are crucial for food quality control and education in the field of agriculture.
“The point in vocational education is for students to connect knowledge and skills after completing secondary vocational school. In order to connect knowledge and skills, it is necessary for the school to always progress, i.e. to acquire modern techniques and technology,” says Svetlana Mladenović, director of the Agricultural-Chemical Secondary School in Kraljevo.
