Be as close to a particle as possible – the basic matter from which everything we know is made. From Friday, November 29 (7 p.m.), take a look at the model of the Large Hadron Collider, which is brought to Belgrade by representatives of CERN, the largest European organization for nuclear research.
The exhibition “CERN – Unveiling the Universe”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the establishment of that organisation, will be open every day until December 20 at 7 p.m. at the Europe House.
Come and discover the secrets of the origin of the universe through the history of the establishment and operation of CERN, the most famous European laboratory for particle physics. The first website in the world was created in Geneva (info.cern.ch ), right in the CERN premises as a way for all scientists of the world to collaborate quickly and easily. This is how the Internet as we know it today was born. Some of the most important medical experiments that significantly extended human life were carried out in these laboratories.
A special place in the exhibition is dedicated to the largest accelerator (particle accelerator) in the world, which comes directly from CERN, so that you can get a real impression of this incredible scientific, technological and engineering endeavour.
During the exhibition, additional programs will be organized for all those interested, especially for pupils, students, scientists and science enthusiasts.
Every Saturday at 11 a.m., a Science Show will be organized where scientists will demonstrate the basic principles studied at CERN through various experiments. The show is open to all those interested, with the necessary registration HERE.
Professional guidance through the exhibition is scheduled every working day from 5 p.m., and registration is not required.
For primary and secondary school students, we will organize popular science workshops on the mysteries of the universe and the basic laws of physics, as well as to learn details about the research carried out at CERN. Find out more about the workshops HERE.
The scientific performance for all generations is organized by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation in cooperation with CERN, the Centre for the Promotion of Science, the Faculty of Physics of the University of Belgrade, the Institute of Physics of the University of Belgrade, with the support of the Europe House.

CERN is engaged in fundamental research in the field of elementary particle physics and is considered one of the world’s largest scientific laboratories. In its premises, CERN has the most advanced scientific measuring instruments and other devices needed for research, the most important of which are accelerators and particle detectors.
