The two-day training on e-business was held on 22 and 23 April 2015 in Belgrade organized by the project E-business Development attended by representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Economy, the National Agency for Regional Development and Regional Development Agencies.

Leszek Jakubowski, Project Team Leader was opened training and presented the project and its objectives. Katarina Jovanovic, Deputy Minister of Economy welcomed the participants and emphasized that e-business as an area has not been in the focus of attention and shared expectation that it will be upgraded during the project lifespan.

The aim of the training was to provide additional information on e-business to the representatives of Regional Development Agencies so they will be able to assist to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMS) on local level to establish and develop e-business.

The training was held by Sinisa Begovic, an expert for e-business on the project. On the first day Begovic talked about the basics of e-business and e-commerce, Internet commerce and marketing and how it works in practice. He also presented the modalities of payment on the Internet. The examples of high-quality internet shops were presented at the training.

Practical examples of promotion on the Internet (through social networks – how to use Facebook for advertisements, promotions on Google) and “guerilla” method, how to make a basic free website with no technical knowledge, were presented on the second day of the training.

The participants were actively involved in the work and assess that training was very good quality. They stressed information they received are very useful for the improvement of e-business in Serbia.

In the next period, the project will continue to support Regional agencies in order to promote e-business.
