Statement by the High Representative on the terrorist attack in Volgograd

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the Commission, issued the following statement today:

“Following the suicide attack at a train station in Volgograd yesterday, I am shocked to learn about another explosion this morning on a trolleybus in the same city.

I strongly condemn this latest attack. I hope that those behind these crimes will be brought to justice.

I express my condolences to the families of the victims as well as to Russia’s Government and people. I wish a full and speedy recovery to all those injured.”
