The meeting that lasted nine hours and resulted in failure, was described by Füle as disappointing, and he added that he does not think of it as his personal, but rather as a failure of the BiH politicians.
SARAJEVO, February 18th 2014 – European Commissioner for Enlargement, Štefan Füle, said today in Sarajevo that his engagement is over when it comes to implementation of the European Court of Justice verdict on the Sejdić-Finci case, after another unsuccessful discussion among the BiH politicians.
As he said, EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy, Catherine Ashton, will be informed on this, since her visit to BiH is scheduled by the end of this week.
The meeting that lasted nine hours and resulted in failure, was described by Füle as disappointing, and he added that he does not think of it as his personal, but rather as a failure of the politicians of BiH: some of them were willing to reach an agreement, while some of them were not.
European Commissioner announced that new initiatives concerning BiH were prepared in Brussels, but these initiatives do not concern either Sejdić-Finci case, or the BiH protests, about which Füle said are citizens’ right to demand their rights and that politicians must hear their voice.
Next Monday in London, Füle announced, European Officials will discuss new economic programme concerning BiH, and he also announced that EU and BiH work groups will be formed, which will deal with the use of IPA funds, Radio Free Europe reports.
On Tuesday the BiH protests continued, although with lower intensity, while Monday marked citizens’ plenary sessions in several cities.
