Statement by the EU Spokesperson on the Kosovo* Security Force

The Kosovo Assembly adopted today a legislation on the Kosovo Security Force. Like NATO, the European Union continues to share the view that the mandate of the KSF should only be changed through an inclusive and gradual process in accordance with Kosovo Constitution.

The European Union expects Kosovo to continue upholding its obligations under to the First Agreement concluded in Brussels in April 2013 and its security arrangements.

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
