How we produce and consume food and energy and how we move people and goods around have an impact on our environment, climate and health. The European Environment Agency’s new photo competition, “Sustainably Yours”, invites Europeans to send photos of the challenges and opportunities in making food, energy and mobility choices more sustainable.
The competition is open to citizens of the EEA member countries and Western Balkan cooperating countries, so participants from Serbia are also invited to send their photos. All participants must be 18 or older. Read more about the competition rules and how to participate on the ‘Sustainably Yours’ competition page.

To participate, send your best photos, by 15 May 2019, on any of these three topics:
- Sustainable food
Can you capture what sustainable food looks like, or what it does not look like? Can you show how it is produced and reaches our plates? What are the solutions to make our food system more sustainable?
- Sustainable energy
We use energy for everything from heating our homes and manufacturing products to moving around and charging our mobiles. Can you show what our dependency on energy looks like or how we can produce energy without negative effects on our environment and climate? What is stopping us?
- Sustainable mobility
We go to school, to work, to visit family and friends, and we go on holidays to discover new places. And we transport the things we consume. From compact cities to efficient engines and clean fuels, can you capture the challenges and opportunities for sustainable mobility?
The winners in the three competition categories will receive a cash prize of EUR 1000 each. The EEA will also give a special Youth Prize for the best picture sent by one of the younger participants. A Public Choice Award will be selected among all finalists through an online vote.
The EEA will announce the winners in June 2019.
