The European Union has expanded the list of persons that will be exposed to targeted sanctions over their role in Ukraine crisis. Fifteen more people will be banned to travel to EU and their assets within the EU will be frozen, the Council decided.
“As agreed at the Foreign Affairs Council of 14 April, the Council has today expanded the list of persons subject to targeted sanctions for actions undermining Ukraine’s territorial integrity sovereignty and independence,” the Council said in a statement released on Monday, April 28.
“Fifteen additional persons responsible for actions which undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine will be targeted with a travel ban and a freeze of their assets within the EU. This brings the total number of persons subject to sanctions in connection with Ukraine’s territorial integrity to 48,” it said.
The legal texts with the list of persons concerned will be published on Tuesday, April 29 in the EU Official Journal and will enter into force at the same time.
