European integrations are closely linked with fulfilment of Sustainable development goals of the United Nations through Agenda 2030, which is in the centre of Serbian government’s planning politics, it was said at the conference “Leaders of Society’s Transformation”, organised by Adria Media Group.

Slavica Đukić Dejanović, Minister without portfolio in charge of demography and Population policy, said that the Agenda 2030 Sustainable development goals in the centre of strategic planning of the Serbian government.

Đukić Dejanović stressed that the partnership with the European Union delegation is important for the Serbian government, because European integrations and improvement in fulfilling Agenda 2030 goals are inseparable.

Jadranka Joksimović, Minister for European Integration, added that this might be the last generation which would be able to save the world through sustainable development, economic and social component.

“Resources are not endless, our time is not infinite”, said Joksimović, adding that European integrations are closely linked with fulfilment of Sustainable Development goals.

EU is an example who cohesive policy is created, whose goal is for member states to decrease their own inequalities, but not harming the others, said Joksimović and stressed that this is an example of sustainable policies. Sustainable development policy in Serbia, related to EU, is an aboutment for credible policy of EU enlargement, said Joksimović. I think that a responsible enlargement policies, supported by Agenda 2030, has a goal not to leave citizens of our legion in the back or out of the line ahead, said Joksimović.

Sem Fabrizi, Head of EU delegation in Serbia, said it was important to work in the spirit of partnership, because no one has a monopoly on the leadership and everyone should work in this direction.

“European Union has from the very start been a forerunner in regard to adopting sustainable development goals and they shape the way EU sees its economic and social future. European Commission has been active in promoting our activities and 10-point plan, which will be implemented through European policies,” Fabrizi stressed.

For Serbia, like other countries aiming towards EU membership, integrations and goals are the same story, two forces that empower each other,” Fabrizi estimated.
