On the occasion of the signing of the first EaSI agreement between the European Investment Fund and the Erste Bank to support small businesses in Serbia, Ambassador Michael Davenport, head of the Delegation of the European Union to Serbia, said:

“We wholeheartedly welcome this agreement which will add to Serbia’s effort to boost job creation and economic growth. Developing Serbian entrepreneurship has been at the heart of the development programmes the EU Delegation has been implementing in Serbia since 2001. By working hand in hand with the Serbian authorities, we helped to build-up the Innovation Fund, provided grants to innovative SMEs, donated to businesses and farmers affected by floods and supported vulnerable persons such as internally displaced people, refugees and single mothers to build start-ups. We hope the new scheme will even further contribute to creating a business friendly environment, encouraging especially vulnerable and small entrepreneurs.”
