Serbia and the European Union are celebrating 15 years of EU development assistance for the benefit of Serbian citizens: since 2001, Serbia has benefited from more than EUR3 billion of EU pre-accession funds. The financial assistance has been spent on programmes and projects which fostered development and concrete reforms and brought benefits to citizens in a number of areas – from health and infrastructure rehabilitation to environmental protection and education.
