Issues discussed were the cooperation between Agency and the EU Delegation as well as Agency’s participation in EU accession negotiations within the framework of Chapter 23.

Director of the Agency Tatjana Babić and Deputy Director Vladan Joksimović, received the Ambassador Michael Davenport the Head of EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia on March 10th 2014. This is Michael Davenport’s first visit to the Agency. Issues discussed were the cooperation between Agency and the EU Delegation as well as Agency’s participation in EU accession negotiations within the framework of Chapter 23.

Head of the EU Delegation Michael Davenport underlined the role of Agency as an independent state body, and its importance in fighting against corruption, as well as its importance in the very EU accession negotiations process. Ambassador Davenport was interested to know about Agency’s activities in current pre-election and election process, having in mind the role of the Agency in monitoring party financing and legal use of public resources.

Agency Director Tatjana Babić introduced the Head of EU Delegation with competences, but also with the results of the last year’s work, as well as with planned activities in the future. Also, she underlined the importance of adopting amendments to the Anti-corruption Agency Law and Control Financing Law as soon as possible, as well as the need for further capacity building of the Agency.
