Viviane Reding stated that voters should decide for or against a “United States of Europe” during elections for the European institutions this spring.
LONDON, 9 January 2014 (FoNet) – Vice President of the European Commission and European Commissioner for Justice Viviane Reding stated that voters should decide for or against a “United States of Europe” during elections for the European institutions this spring.
Reding thinks that it is necessary to build a “United States of Europe” with the European Commission as government and two chambers, the European Parliament and a Senate of Member States.
Reding said that a campaign for the European Union (EU) to become a “United States of Europe” will be the best weapon against the Eurosceptics, Daily Telegraph reports.
Reding pointed out that in less than four months citizens across Europe will have the opportunity to choose the Europe they want to live in.
