The winners of the EU photo contest “Be eco-mobile”, organised by the EU Delegation to Serbia and the EU Info Centre, have been presented with awards today in Tasmajdan Park in Belgrade.

A total of six awards has been presented, three in each of the two categories (pupils and pet owners) within the contest that ran from 1 August-12 September. The decision on the winners was first made by citizens in an online poll on the EU Info Centre’s Facebook page, and then by the Jury of Experts composed of one delegate from each of the following: the EU Delegation to Serbia, the Secretariat for Transport of the City of Belgrade, PUC Beograd and the EU Info Centre.

The awards were presented to the winners by Head of Operations III at the EU Delegation Richard Maša and Head of Media Appearances of the PUC Beograd Srbobranka Ubiparipovic.

In the category of elementary and high school pupils, the first prize (a bicycle) went to Sandra Grbic, a pupil of the Pivo Karamatijevic high school from Nova Varos. Natasa Cvetkovski, a pupil of the Jovan Mikic elementary school, won the second prize (a pair of inline skates), whereas the third prize (a scooter) went to Danica Stankovic, a pupil of the Dimitrije Todorovic Kaplar elementary from Knjazevac.

In the category of pet owners, the first prize (pet food in dinar countervalue of 120 euros) went to Ivana Djokic from Zajecar. The second prize and the third prize (pet supplies) went to Ana Sarac from Belgrade and Jelena Mladenovic, respectively.

Apart from the wining photos, the Jury picked eight more which depicted the subject of eco mobility in a special manner: these photos have been applied to a КТ-4 tram which in the following months during its day to day ride around town will serve as reminder to citizens about the need to protect the environment.

Also, 23 of the 117 photos submitted to the contest will be on display at the EU Info Centre (7 Kralja Milana, Belgrade).

The award ceremony marked the conclusion of the campaign “Europe for Green Serbia” under which the photo contest had been organised.
