Exchange of ideas and views across borders


Belgrade –March 18, The European Union Delegation to Serbia welcomed today civil servants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, North Macedonia and Montenegro. The five young professionals are participating in an EU funded programme which enables public servants to visit neighbouring countries in the Western Balkans and to work on specific topics in the respective administrations.

The current visit to Serbia organised by the Ministry for European Integration is dedicated to strengthening the economy, competitiveness and the overall investment climate. The group was welcomed by the Head of Cooperation of the EU Delegation, Yngve Engstrӧm. The programme is called the “EU scheme for young professionals from the Western Balkans” and is being implemented through the British Council.

*This designation is without prejudice to positions on status, and is in line with UNSCR 1244/1999 and the ICJ Opinion on the Kosovo declaration of independence.
