2nd Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region – Think macro-regionally, act locally

The second Forum of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region (EUSAIR) are taking place in Ioannina on 11 – 12. May, jointly organized by the European Commission and the Hellenic Republic.

The Forum will take stock of the progress of the Strategy since its endorsement by the European Council in October 2014, reflecting in particular on the achievements since the first EUSAIR Forum, held in Dubrovnik in May 2016, and will contribute significantly to define the way forward in the implementation of the Strategy.

The participation of ministers of foreign affairs and ministers responsible for EU funds from the eight EUSAIR countries, together with the EU Commissioner responsible for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Karmenu Vella, is expected to give a strong signal of renewed political commitment towards the Strategy.
