Kaja Kallas, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, announces the appointment of Andreas von Beckerath as the EU Ambassador to Serbia.
Ambassador von Beckerath is currently serving as Ambassador of Sweden to Poland. Among other posts, he previously held the positions of Deputy Director General for the Department for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and as Ambassador of Sweden to Ukraine.
The EU Delegation is the face of the EU in Serbia and takes forward the EU’s values and interests.
The Delegation informs, implements and projects the EU’s priorities in Serbia, such as EU enlargement, including to the Western Balkans, and foreign and security policy.
