On the occasion of European Mobility Week, the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Serbia and EU Info Centre, supported by the Secretariat for Transport of the City of Belgrade and Urban Public Transport Enterprise “Beograd”, organise the “Green Ideas for Our City” drawing contest.
Main idea behind this action is to inspire primary and secondary schools pupils to demonstrate their vision of the city they want to live in, thus sending the message about the importance of environmental protection and use of ecological means of transportation, in an original and creative way. Alternative mobility means the use of public transport, railway and ecological modes of transportation, such as walking or cycling. Cars emit harmful gases that seriously damage air quality in cities and have an adverse effect on ozone layer and climate changes. This activity is aimed at educating population across all age groups about the importance of “ecological” means of transportation. Special attention will be paid to younger kids, who should embrace this initiative and pass its messages further on.
Contest will be published via EU Info Centre’s social networks’ accounts and will be open from 5 August- 5 September 2014. drawings should be submitted no later than 5 September 2014 at 17:00 via competition@euinfo.rs whereas the message should be titled: alternative mobility – “Green Ideas for Our City”.
The first three prizes are a bicycle, inline skates, and a scooter, whereas 20 of the best works will be displayed in EU Info Centre in September within the marking of European Mobility Week. Being main sponsors of the action, City of Belgrade and Urban Public Transport Enterprise “Beograd” will promote the winning drawings on two of their public transportation vehicles.
All of the submitted works will be published on EU Info Centre’s Facebook page from 6-11 September. By liking, citizens will be enabled to vote for the best 20 works due to be exhibited in Dom omladine in Belgrade, whereas the Jury will decide the winners of the first three prizes.
