On 11 December 2014, the conference “EMAS III – The most credible environmental management system–also for organisations in Serbia. Final Event” will be held at the Chamber of Commerce, Conference hall, 2nd floor, Terazije 23, Belgrade, starting at 09.30 h. The Conference is organised by the EU funded project “Law Enforcement in the field of Industrial Pollution Control, prevention of Chemical Accidents and establishing the EMAS system”.
The main objective of the conference is to promote the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS), management instrument developed by the European Commission for companies and other organisations to evaluate, report, and improve their environmental performance, its benefits and initial steps made to its introduction in Serbia.
The Conference will give the opportunity to describe the results of the EU funded project implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, with the assistance of a Consulting Consortium, and aimed to prepare the appropriate legal and technical framework for the introduction of the EMAS Global scheme in Serbia.
The main topics to be addressed by the conference are EMAS III introduction, possibilities of EMAS registration of organisations in Serbia, relevant national legislation framework, additional requirements for third countries, main project results in the area of EMAS introduction, practical case studies of three EMAS pilot organisations that have been supported during the project and EU MS (Germany and Austria) practical experience.
