Over the course of December 2014, construction, adaptation and extension of building of the Faculty of Sciences in Novi Sad will be completed, providing professors and students with brand new 1.500 square metres of useful work space, including a reading room, two equipped IT classrooms, and 14 professor cabinets. Within the EU HETIP project, European Union have invested over one million euros into this particular institution of higher education.

Final craftsmen works on the Faculty building are underway, whereas mezzanine of the building is mostly completed. Installation of partitions in sanitary facilities and handrails is yet to be done, as well as painting works. Lift has been attested, and electrical installations are currently in their final installation stage (electrical connectors, switch boxes and other equipment are being installed). Mechanical equipment is fully installed.

Book storage is completed and the Faculty has, at its own expense, already purchased bookshelves. In total, storage area amounts to 210 square metres. Most of the work for craftsmen of the “Zidar” construction company, in charge with construction works, includes exterior locksmithing given it should be entirely checked and completed.

Final works are also ongoing on the upper floor. Flooring and joinery replacement are completed. New central reading room of 330 square metres and with the capacity for 120 students, is completely finished. Faculty has purchased new equipment (desks, chairs) for the reading room.

Apart from the reading room, the works on two IT classrooms have been completed and the equipment has been installed in 130 square metres of space, intended for 60 students.

Fourteen professor cabinets, a total of 250 square metres, have also been completed. Painting, handrails, balcony fences, handrails, tinsmith repairs, partitions within sanitary facilities and painting repairs on steel construction remain to be completed.
