Mirko Đurić, member of Smederevo City Council, said the distribution of mineral compost worth 4.3 million dinars, given to the farmers from the European Union funds within the programme “EU Assistance to Flooded Areas in Serbia.”
Delivery of 142,2 tons of mineral compost, a total of six trucks of products, was done in the morning hours in warehouses of the Agriculture Cooperative in Vranovo.
Mineral compost assistance will be distributed to 474 farmers, 300 kilos each, who have been given wheat seeds and barley, Đurić siad.
This donation is distributed to the farmers from Vranovo and Mala Krsna, while other village local communities on Friday, according to certified list.
Đurić stressed that the total of EU donation for Smederevo farmers in 2015 is 17.5 million dinars, or 146.000 euros.
EU programme has been implemented on the ground by UN Organisation for Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), in cooperation with the representatives of towns and councils in Serbia.
