Civil society organisations are important interlocutors of European Union and some of them have proven to be highly reliable partners in many EU-funded projects, said Head of the Political Section of the EU Delegation to Serbia Luca Bianconi.
EU will monitor the extent to which advice of the civil society are followed during the EU accession negotiation process, said Bianconi at the Workshop on involvement of civil society organisations in the negotiation process for Chapter 23.
Head of the negotiating team for accession of Serbia to European Union Tanja Miscevic said that in the process of European integration primary responsibility lay with national administration, “but we are trying to include civil society organisations to a larger extent.”
She called on everyone “who recognise their role” in the EU negotiation process to join it, and assessed that civil society organisations played a major role in controlling executive authorities during the delivery of promises.
