European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes HAHN will visit SERBIA on 8 June 2017. He will meet President Aleksandar Vučić and Serbian leadership, and civil society organisations. He will also open a regional investment conference in Belgrade and launch the final works on the reconstruction of the Žeželj Bridge in Novi Sad.

In Belgrade, the Commissioner will meet with President Aleksandar VUČIĆ and end his visit will end with a meeting with members of the National Convent, civil society crganisation and business associations.

The Commissioner will also open the investment conference Towards a Better Investment Climate in the Western Balkans” together  with the Serbian Minister for Economy Goran KNEŽEVIĆ. The conference is organised by the European Commission’s Directorate for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations.

Commissioner Hahn will travel afterwards to Novi Sad, where he will meet Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Zorana MIHAJLOVIĆ, Minister for Energy Aleksandar ANTIĆ, Prime Minister of Vojvodina Igor MIROVIĆ, and Mayor of Novi Sad Milos VUČEVIĆ. Following the meeting, the Commissioner and his Serbian hosts will visit the construction site of the Žeželj Bridge, which is in a final stage of preparation for the launching of the arches towards the main pillar in the River Danube. The EU has invested €30,3 million into the construction of the bridge, with an additional €4.1 million for the access roads whose construction will start in the coming days.
