A joint meeting of Catherine Ashton with both Serbia and Kosovo Prime Ministers, Ivica Dačić and Hashim Thaçi, along with their negotiating teams, has been continued.

BRUSSELS, February 12th 2014 – The dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina has been continued this morning in Brussels, thanks to the EU’s High Representative, Catherine Ashton; Maja Kocijančić, Catherine Ashton’s spokesperson, announced on Twitter.

A joint meeting of Catherine Ashton with both Serbia and Kosovo Prime Ministers, Ivica Dačić and Hashim Thaçi, along with their negotiating teams, has been continued, wrote Kocijančić.

This somewhat deviates from the usual practice of High Representative meeting Prime Ministers separately, but according to her spokesperson, this has nothing to do with the essence of the negotiation: judiciary and assembly of community of Serb municipalities remains at the core of negotiation. According to the European Commission sources, there is a possibility of discussing other issues, e.g. repeated election for the Mayor of North Kosovska Mitrovica on February 23rd but also about the arrest of Oliver Ivanović as well as the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, agencies reported.
