Citizens show great support for the dialogue, said Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia at the presentation of the results of the opinion poll “Citizens’ Attitudes towards Serbia’s EU Integration Process” conducted by TNS Medium Galup on behalf of the EU Delegation to Serbia.

Asked to comment on the fact that majority of citizens support Serbia’s EU membership but oppose the recognition of Kosovo independence (number one condition to EU accession, according to more than 60% of citizens), Davenport said that Brussels was not asking Serbia to recognise Kosovo but to achieve a comprehensive normalisation of relations with Kosovo.

“Citizen show support for our work and this should encourage us to continue the dialogue and implement the agreements that had been reached, but also to take it one step further,” Davenport said.
