Head of EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said that in the last couple of years Serbia made great progress in attracting investments.

During Belgrade Investment Days conference, held at the National Assembly of Serbia, Ambassador Davenport said that Serbia adopted key laws such as Law on Labour, Law on Bankruptcy, Law on Financial Restructuring and Law on Privatisation.

“This had its effect, and now each of the 28 EU Member States support reforms Serbia had taken and whose implementation is ongoing,” Davenport said, adding that EU’s key priority is to support Serbia on its EU path.

Role of the EU Delegation is to support this cause, Davenport said. According to him, Serbian Government also made great progress in its political agenda and is currently in a stage which includes opening of the first negotiating chapters with the EU.
