The European wants to see tangible progress in the rule of law in Serbia, including independent and impartial justice and prosecution, independent institutions and media, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport told Danas daily.

Serbia is lagging behind with the implementation of Action Plan for Chapter 23, but I am convinced that new government will place this issue at the top of its priorities, Davenport said.

According to Head of the EU Delegation, it is important for Serbian institutions to apply recommendations made by Ombudsman as promised by Prime Minister in the case of demolition of facilities in Savamala and for the government to take the investigation of this case seriously.
