The European External Action Service Director Angelina Eichhorst met today with Prime Minister and President-Elect Aleksandar Vučić, Minister of Defence Zoran Đorđević, Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović and Chief Negotiator for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue, Marko Đurić. She discussed the latest developments in the region and the next steps in the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue.

“The EU has been consistently and effectively supporting reconciliation and regional cooperation in the Western Balkans. And we will continue to do so. The European Council has reiterated its support for the Western Balkan region’s clear European perspective. The EU will continue to work with all partners in the region bilaterally on their respective European paths and towards closer and more effective regional cooperation and collaboration,” Ms Eichhorst said.

“As HRVP Mogherini and Commissioner Hahn have underlined on many occasions, statements which can be interpreted as political interference in neighbouring countries are not helpful in building good neighbourly relations. We need to see constructive and cooperative relations based on dialogue, and intensify work to move forward on the European integration agenda,” Ms Eichhorst concluded.
