The UK, Germany, Kuwait, Norway, and the United Nations will co-host the conference in London on 4 February 2016 to raise significant new funding to meet the immediate and longer-term needs of those affected by the crisis in Syria.

Syria is the world’s biggest humanitarian crisis. Billions of dollars in international aid are needed to support people caught up in the conflict. The Supporting Syria and the Region conference will bring together world leaders from around the globe to raise to the challenge of raising the money needed to help millions of people whose lives have been torn apart by the devastating civil war.

European Council President Donald Tusk, High Representative Federica Mogherini, European Parliament President Martin Schultz, Commissioners Chrystos Stylianides and Johannes Hanh will attend the conference in London.

During the conference the EU will make a new pledge to help Syrians and regional actors.

The EU is the leading donor in the international response to the Syrian crisis, with over €5 billion from the EU and Member States collectively in humanitarian, development, economic and stabilisation assistance.
