European Union puts high priority on economic issues and from now it will deal even more systematically with macroeconomic, business environment, social, as well as labour issues in candidate countries, said Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport addressing the Economic Summit of Serbia.

Davenport said the EU had provided recommendations for Serbian reform agenda, stressing fiscal consolidation, national administration reform, and revision of public administration recruitment. Serbia was also recommended to implement the tax and pension system reforms, as well as to restructure and liquidate state-owned enterprises, Davenport said.
