On Tuesday, 17 November, Head of the EU Delegation, Ambassador Michael Davenport and Swiss Ambassador to Serbia Jean-Daniel Ruch will pay a visit to newly constructed building aimed at Bujanovac unit of Faculty of Economy in Subotica, and, together with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic present diplomas to the first generation of students who have graduated at the facility. Through European PROGRES, European Union and Swiss Government have funded the construction and equipping of the facility, with the participation of Serbian Government.

Ambassador Davenport will, together with the President of Coordinating Authority for Presevo, Bujanovac i Medvedju Zoran Stankovic, visit collective centre for temporary reception and housing of migrants and Presevo. Then he will present agreements on ten prefabricated houses for the most vulnerable families, displaced from Kosovo and Metohija, and pay a visit to the project of inter-ethnic cooperation implemented between two high schools in Bujanovac, funded by European Union and Swiss Government through European PROGRES.

European Union and Swiss Government support the activities of the European PROGRESS programmes, which will contribute to sustainable development of southern and south western Serbia, with a total of 24.46 million euros. The approved projects will be aimed at strengthening the local administration, providing a favourable environment for the development of infrastructure and economy and at improving the implementation of social inclusion and the employment policy. Activities on the ground are implemented by UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

The municipalities included in the programme are as follows: Novi Pazar, Ivanjica, Nova Varos, Priboj, Prijepolje, Raska, Sjenica and Tutin in the south western part of Serbia, as well as Prokuplje, Blace, Zitoradja, Kursumlija, Leskovac, Bojnik, Vlasotince, Lebane, Medvedja, Crna Trava, Vranje, Bosilegrad, Bujanovac, Vladicin Han, Presevo, Surdulica, Trgoviste, Brus, Nis, Gadzin Han, Doljevac, Merosina, Svrljig, Babusnica, Bela Palanka and Knjazevac in the south eastern part of the country.
