Minister of Work Aleksandar Vulin and Minister of Internal Affairs Nebojsa Stefanovic told EU and UN representatives in Serbia that the country needed financial assistance, more people and resources to equip new temporary refugee reception centres.

Vulin, Stefanovic and Acting Director of Serbian European Integration Office Ksenija Milenkovic met today in Palata Srbija with Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport, Head of UNHCR Office in Serbia Hans Friedrich Schodder and UN Resident Coordinator Irena Vojackova-Solorano.
The meeting discussed assistance required by Serbia in order to tackle the issue of growing number of refugees. Ministers Vulin and Stefanovic expressed their gratitude for the past support and said they expected cooperation and assistance from the EU to continue.

Michael Davenport and Hans Friedrich Schodder commended the way Serbian Government treated refugees and pledged to continue providing support in tackling current situation, reads the statement issued by Serbian Ministry of Work.
