EU assistance to Serbia to arrive within hours: Davenport

Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport said late on Friday that EU assistance to floods-hit Serbia was to arrive in the coming hours.

“We are focused on this terrifying emergency situation. Our thoughts are with all citizens affected by these truly terrible floods, whether they are happening in Obrenovac or in other parts of Serbia,” Davenport said.

“The EU reacted swiflty to the request we recieved today by the government of Serbia and that assistance in form of equpment and various technical tools, such as boats etc., the assistance requested by the government, will arrive to Serbia within hours,” said Ambassador Davenport.
