The EU book stand at the International Belgrade Book Fair marked the last day of the Fair by awarding letters of acknowledgement to partners of the EU Delegation to Serbia.
Project Manager and Team Leader of the EU Info Centre Vesna Manic and Ljubica Markovic thanked the organisations which have supported the implementation of activities and thus helped us to set up a rich and dynamic programme at the EU book stand throughout the Fair.
“’Danube in books – A true European journey’ is the slogan under which we held 20 promotions, literary discussions, debates and workshops and brought together some 500 participants over the course of seven days starting from 24 October ,“ Ljubica Markovic said.
“We have handed out over 4 000 publications and other promotional items to a total of 2 500 people who have visited the stand to browse the books and brochures and obtain EU-related information.“
Danube-related literary works, promotion of development and tourist opportunities of the Danube region as well as donation impact on fostering the development of the region along the Danube in Serbia were all presented under the umbrella topic of the Danube, Markovic said.
“Another reason we chose this particular topic is the fact that 2016 marks 15th anniversary of the partnership between Serbia and the EU, our country’s biggest donor and trade partner,“ Markovic said.
Letters of acknowledgement were awarded to: Serbian Government European Integration Office, the National Library of Serbia, the University Library Svetozar Markovic, the Office for Cooperation with Civil Society of the Government of Serbia, Zrenjanin Public Library Zarko Zrenjanin, Tempus-Erasmus+ Office Serbia, Belgrade Open School, European Movement in Serbia, the project Socio-Economic Development of Danube Serbia Region, Centre for European Integration of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Austrian Development Agency in Serbia, ArtLink Young Virtuoso String Ensemble, National Coordinator of the COSME Programme for the Republic of Serbia (the Ministry of Economy), Erasmus Student Network Belgrade Transparency Serbia, the Centre for Cultural Decontamination, NGO Atina, Film Centre Serbia, Culture Forum of the European Movement in Serbia and the Foundation of Ilija M.
