The Delegation of the European Union to Serbia supports Nisville Jazz Festival again this year, in cooperation with the EU Info corner Niš and the European PROGRES development programme. This is the third year that the Youth Stage offers an opportunity for young talents from all parts of Serbia to present themselves to the audience and get a professional affirmation.

The Youth Stage was established throug a project “Jazz – Multicultural Expression”, realised by the Nisville Foundation in 2014, with the European Union support. The first performances at the Youth Stage grouped young Serbian, Albanian, Bulgarian and Roma musicians. A message that the multiculturalism was the advantage this region could offer was sent from the Youth Stage itself – that it can break borders, create new friendships, new music and bring out the best and the most creative from young people in Serbia.

Beside two dozen bands that would perform at this year’s Youth Stage, 34 children from Vranje, Obrenovac and Novi Sad – grouped around “El Sisteme” project – will also be there. It is an unique project that incit4es talented young people belonging to marginalised and vulnerable groups to get a formal music education and develop towards building of tolerance and respect of differences. This social and inclusive music project in Vranje has been realised with the European Union and the Swiss goverment support through the European PROGRES programme. Young musicians from “,El Sisteme” will perform at the Youth Stage on Friday and Sunday, as well as in the Geronthology centre in Niš on Saturday, August 13.
