Several EU Member States’ teams have focused on water purification in Svilajnac, Ćuprija, and Obrenovac, whereas the operation of floodwater pumping continues in Obrenovac, Svilajnac and Babušinac.

Part of the Czech team, as well as the teams from Denmark, Slovenia and France continue their efforts in pumping the water out of smaller flooded areas, in order to enable citizens to dry and use their facilities as soon as possible. According to preliminary assessments, EU Member States teams have pumped out more than 1.220.000 cubic metres of water so far.

All four water purification units are now operable. There is an ongoing process of approving sanitary safety of the water purified, so that it may be distributed to citizens as drinking water as quickly as possible. Two French teams are engaged in these operations in  Svilajnac and Ćuprija, while two German crews work on water purification in Obrenovac.

Romanian, Austrian, Bulgarian, as well as a part of the Czech team had successfully completed their tasks and went back to their countries, while some of them have been redeployed to assist in Bosnia’s flood relief efforts.
