Aleksa Ludoski, Petar Vucelic and Katarina Kertesi are elementary school pupils from Zrenjanin who are most familiar with the European Union. They are the winners of the quiz “How well do you know Europe“ arranged in Zrenjanin within the European Village event, hosted by the EU Delegation to Serbia, the EU Info Centre in Belgrade and the EU Info Point Novi Sad, in celebration of Europe Month and Europe Day.

Acting Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Serbia Oskar Benedikt presented awards to the best ranking contestants – a bicycle, a table and roller blades – and wished them many happy moments and success in their further education.

The sixth edition of the traditional manifestation European Village was held at the Medison hall and caught the attention of numerous citizens of Zrenjanin and their guests with a compelling programme aimed at familiarising with and the promotion of culture, tradition and customs of EU nations.

The pupils from elementary schools in Zrenjanin and its surrounding neighbourhoods, with support from their teachers and parents, depicted the way of life of the big European family in a creative and compelling manner – each school decorated its corner so that it reflects a certain European country. A cheerful noise resounded all around the European Village as the elementary school pupils performed folk dances.

The manifestation was inaugurated by the Minister without portfolio in charge of European integration Jadranka Joksimovic, Acting Ambassador of the EU Delegation to Serbia and the Mayor of Zrenjanin Cedomir Janjic. The schools whose pupils had taken part in the quiz were awarded with certificates and gifts by the representatives of the Serbian European Integration Office and the European Affairs Fund.
