Within another Open Doors Day, French Embassy hosted 15 pupils of the Third Belgrade High School and organised a quiz about the history, geography and institutions of the EU and Serbia’s EU bid.

The quiz, just as the Open Doors event, was organised in partnership with the EU Delegation to Serbia, the EU Info Centre and the French Institute in Serbia, and included awards for the three best ranked participants.

The goal was to bring these young people from Serbia as close to the EU and its functioning as possible amid Serbia’s swift progress in the process of European integration reflected in the last week’s opening of another two negotiating chapters.

Once the school year finished, 15 pupils signed up for the quiz proposed by the Embassy. They have shown excellent general knowledge and got good results as they answered 20 questions.

The Embassy and the French Institute in Serbia seized the opportunity to provide more information about the EU and its functioning. This was also a chance for pupils to learn more about the EU by asking questions.

Besides, the event was an opportunity for students, all of whom attend bilingual classes, to speak in French. Despite their young age, they have shown rather good knowledge of the language. The Embassy described this as an encouraging sign for the future of classes taught in French in Serbia and the openness of young people in the country towards France.

The Day ended with a guided tour around the French Embassy. The pupils walked around the lounges and gardens of the Embassy and learned more about the history of the building and its great cultural and artistic value.
