The work by Jugoslav Vlahović won this years’ cartoon and comic strip art competition titled “Myths and Prejudices – How Serbia and EU view each other.” For the second year in a row, the competition was jointly organised by the EU Delegation to Serbia and EU Info Centre to mark the celebration of Europe Day.

Vlado Trtić and Špiro Radulović’s cartoons won the second and the third prize, respectively. The decision was made by the jury consisting of famous Serbian cartoonists and comic strip artists, Predrag Koraksić Corax, Marko Somborac and Aleksandar Zograf, as well as Head of Information, Communication and Press of EU Delegation Ramūnas Janušauskas, chief of communication department at the Serbian government’s European Integration Office Nataša Savić and Predrag Vujović of EU Info Centre.

The awards will be handed in by the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport at the exhibition opening ceremony May 8 at noon in Knez Mihailova Street in Belgrade.

A total of 72 works were received for the competition and, besides from the awarded three, the jury has selected 14 more works to participate in the exhibition that marks Europe Day. The exhibition will run May 8-11 in Knez Mihailova Street, as well as May 9-18 in the Stadion Shopping Centre in Belgrade. Ambasador Davenport will give appropriate prizes to authors of the works selected to be exibited during the visit to the exibition in the Stadion Shopping Centre, on May 9 at 15:30h.

The works will also be exhibited in Novi Sad and Niš in late June.
