Kosovo Government should immediately revoke taxes on goods imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, said EU’s spokesperson Maja Kocijancic, dubbing those measures as provocative and insulting.

Kocijancic said the EU is familiar with resignations from four Serbian-majority towns mayors in the north of Kosovo.

She said the EU has from the start been clear that the taxes of 100% on goods imported from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina represent a violation of the CEFTA agreement and SAA between the EU and Kosovo, media reported.

“Kosovo authorities should immediately revoke these measures. Any provocative and insulting action, step or statement are deeply concerning and do not contribute to the dialogue whose goal is the normalization of relations,” Kocijancic said and added that all issues must be resolved through dialogue.
