Maja Kocijancic, Spokeswoman to EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, said that all Western Balkans countries have a clear European perspective, but need to implement reforms in order to turn that perspective into reality.
Commenting on protests in Belgrade and opposition’s obstruction of the National Assembly, she said that one should not go into details of each and every country in particular, adding that a parliament should be the place of dialogue, while noting that a right to peaceful protest is one of fundamental rights.
“Generally speaking, we are saying that all Western Balkans countries have a clear European perspective, which will be turned into reality once the reform – which should be given utmost priority – is implemented,” Kocijancic said.
She added that the Western Balkans regions remains in EU’s focus.
