Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic received today Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport who handed him a letter from European Council President Donald Tusk and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker congratulating him on his election victory, reads the government statement.

“Citizens of Serbia have supported your effort and vision as prime minister over the past two years, and rewarded you with their trust to lead the country on the EU path. Serbia is a valued partner of the European Union and in the region and beyond, and we are looking forward to continuing close cooperation with your country. We are convinced you will continue to give your best to take Serbia closer to the EU, because we firmly believe that is where the future of your country lies,” reads the letter of congratulations from Tusk and Juncker.

Vucic and Davenport also discussed the continuation of political and economic reforms and how to accelerate Serbia’s European path. Vucic said that the new government would continue to make substantial contribution to regional cooperation and stability.
