Dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo on normalisation of their relations will resume in January, EU High Representative for Foreign and Security policy Federica Mogherini said in a statement following her meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.

“I intend to invite the two Prime Ministers to the next high level meeting already in January and I look forward to continuing our important work on the normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina,” Mogherini said.

“For the EU and for me personally this remains a high priority. I am pleased that in the meantime work on implementation continues at technical level; there is still quite a bit of work to be done,” she said.

Mogherini and Thaci also exchanged views on Kosovo’s progress, the statement said.

“We agreed that, now that there is a new government in Pristina, work should resume at an intensified pace in the EU reform agenda so that good progress can be made in the next year, both in its internal development and in its EU path,” Mogherini said.

“I look forward to working very closely with Hashim Thaçi and the new leadership in Kosovo in the coming period,” she added.
