I would like to congratulate the two Presidents of the two Chambers of Commerce for their leadership and for their initiatives to have this cooperation. I am talking about cooperation, not only dialogue, which is already an advanced step. It is important to create this kind of cooperation. I believe it is all about economic development, and these initiatives from private persons and private companies are aimed to create jobs and business opportunities. Business opportunity is possible only if there is cooperation across borders, abandoning barriers of different kinds and expressions.

This concerns the whole region. I am grateful for the initiative of the two chambers to reach out to the other chambers in the region and to be part to the Berlin process when it comes to the cross border cooperation. And I can only confirm and reassure that we are ready to support these initiatives not only by words but also by money:  we used the IPA funding to enhance this kind of cooperation, which once again we believe it is extremely valuable. I would like to thank once again for this initiative, that could be a model for others.

I wish you all the best in our common interest.

Questions and answers

Are you concerned for the recent violence in Kosovo?

I am always concerned about violence because in democracy you should have exchange of words and arguments and not of violence. This is something everybody has to learn also in the run of a European prospective.

So I can urge everybody to avoid violence, to abstain from violence and to have better arguments and this is what is about. And once again, I hope that I have been clear on that and this is the message I will pass everywhere at every moment.

On the opening of the negotiations chapters with Serbia?

Give me the opportunity to inform people in two days when I will be in Belgrade.
